Billie Lourd Daily

Bokeem Woodbine, “Scream Queens” star Billie Lourd and Jeremy Irvine have joined the cast of “Billionaire Boys Club,” Variety has learned exclusively.

Irvine will play Kyle Biltmore, one of the members of the Billionaire Boys Club, and Lourd is Rosanna, his love interest. Woodbine will play a club bouncer who becomes wrapped up in the club.

Ansel Elgort, Taron Egerton and Kevin Spacey are starring in the remake. Elgort is playing Joe Hunt and Egerton portrays tennis pro Dean Karny, while Spacey is Ron Levin. Suki Waterhouse and Emma Roberts have been cast as Karny and Hunt’s love interests.

The film will follow the rise and fall of Hunt and Karny, who ran a Ponzi scheme called the Billionaire Boys Club in the early 1980s. The club collapsed when Levin’s investment turned out to be worthless. Hunt turned to murder to raise funds and was convicted in 1987 of killing Levin.

James Cox (“Wonderland”) is directing from a script he co-wrote with Captain Mauzner.

The project, produced by Holly Wiersma and Cassian Elwes, is being financed by Armory Films with its principals Tim Zajaros and Chris Lemole executive producing. Crystal Lourd, Jere Hausfater and Logan Levy will also executive produce.

NBC’s “Billionaire Boys Club” miniseries ran in 1987 and starred Judd Nelson as Joe Hunt, Ron Silver as Levin and Brian McNamara as Karny.

Billie Lourd has said she’s not playing Princess Leia’s daughter in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, even though she’s the real-life daughter of Carrie Fisher.

But as PEOPLE’s exclusive first look at her top-secret character reveals, she has at least inherited Leia’s hairdo!

In PEOPLE’s special Star Wars collector’s edition, on newsstands today, Lourd reveals she had an obsession with the original movie when she was growing up.

“I made [my mom] watch it at least once a week – and on special occasions I would make her get in a lightsaber fight with me,” Lourd, 23, says. “Let’s just say the more trained Jedi usually won.”

Lourd’s destiny at first seemed to take a different path from her mom and dad’s (her father is CAA superagent Bryan Lourd). At 19, she was studying religion and psychology at New York University. At that age, her mom started production on the original movie as the now-iconic Princess Leia, up to her hair buns in a galactic war.
